Attock District was initially named Campbellpure following the Briton Sir Campbell who established the city of Campbellpure. The name of the district was altered to Attock as of 1978. Attock city is the district headquarters. Even though Pakistan had turned out to be self-governing from Britain in 1947, it wasn't awaiting 1978 that the name Attock was approved for the city. At the moment Attock District is secondary alienated into six Tehsil divisions. Akbar's Fort and Attock Bridge is the notable attraction for tourists.
