Anarkali whose real name was Nadira Begum is a legend myth, mystery and history. On the side of Mall Road inside the grounds of Punjab Secretariat lies Anarkali Tomb who was a lady love of Mughal emperor Prince Saleem (Jahangir). This tomb was altered into a Christian church after the British invasion in Indo-Pak, but at present the tomb is used as a library for the Punjab Records Office. For public and tourist Anarkali tomb is always open at certain timings. It's a beautiful garden and near to Anarkali Bazaar (market). There is a famous ideology that many people say about the Anarkali who was buried alive on the order of Mughal emperor Akbar in between two walls.
The tomb is circular in shape and entrenched with a vast and supercilious dome supported from inside by eight massive arches 12 feet 3 inches thick that is surrounded by Anarkali garden.
